Does every singer feel like they aren't good?

Its definitely not just you, its all of us. Notice that I said US. This goes way beyond singers, this is the Bane of the Artist Soul cycling through the seasons. Welcome to winter. Here’s my compliment to you, artistic soul in crisis: if you feel that you’re not good enough, lets call that what it is: growing pains. Inevitably, we come to a point where we question ourselves and our talents. This is a sign of GROWTH, not despair. Recognizing imperfections is a sign of improvement. If you can’t see room for improvement then you’re simply not an artist. This is the Artistic soul at work- ALWAYS at work. Its an innate continuous mechanism.

The real issue here is how to turn that negative voice in your head into positive forward motion. Listen to some audio of yourself. Don’t like it? adjust and try again. Already done this 50 times? Step away. Go play something that soothes your soul, go step away from the music entirely even.

You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to feel like you suck. You’re allowed to feel that you’re amazing. Whatever you do though, don’t ever stop creating. This is the blessing of the artistic soul: You can always create. Sometimes you need to silence the voice that chides you and get back to a place of pride but at no point have you done anything wrong. You’ve been in the cycle. Embrace all the seasons. Good luck!
