Gentle Vocal Exercise for Smooth Transitions

Having trouble bridging the gap in your voice? This vocal exercise is for you! In this exercise we will start up high and descend on the plosive ‘kee’ sound lightly. In order to make this sound we briefly stop the airflow and for those that tend to overload it can be a helpful regulator which allows us to move more freely after the contact. Descending exercises are very helpful for easing us over the break in general! Think of it like you’re starting your walk from the top of the hill as opposed to the bottom where you feel you need to prepare yourself (more effort- which is an illusion that ultimately makes us over prepare and tense up). Sing lightly on this one!
